Planar anomaly on arcs ?

Hi Forum. I was using the planar command on some closed curves made from arcs and I noticed the command wasn't making a plane inside the dimensions of the closed curve. I added a couple shorter arcs as a reference. I probably missing something not obvious to me ?

Thanks, Sven

Hi svenster,

Options > View > MeshAngle reduced from say 10 to 1, will show much less of the artifact, but
mesh angle of 1 may result in "slower" (?) display.

Normally for a balance of speed vs artifacts, mesh angle setting should be ~ 10 ?

Just an opinion :-)

My mesh angle changes depending on what i am working on.

I keep mine mostly at 4. But i mostly only work on smaller, lower detailed objects like in manufacturing.

I have a larger more detailed project with 1000's of parts and detail going from 100 feet to an inch... i set that file to 30 and 40 to work in it. If i need detail, i use a new instance of MoI and then copy and paste to bring that object into the larger assembly. If i didnt change the mesh angle, a simple pan or rotation of the camera would take 12 seconds or more.

I think we had a discussion with Michael awhile back about saving this setting within the file. This is what Rhino does.

But Michael explained that this actually creates problems also. (Agree)

So for me, the REAL solution would be how to have non technical users recognize and understand the setting from simple support systems...

The best solution would be a help system that can "find" all the scenario questions and lead to the mesh angle documentation.....

But i prefer Michael improving MoI for the next 3 years as opposed to that. This forum is more like an "AI" help system!!! But better....
