I was able to import a large OBJ file and now I'm trying to import a smaller file and it keeps crashing.

Usually problems with subd conversion are more about structural problems like duplicate faces, or more than 2 polygons sharing an edge or similar, not just file size.

Hi Suzanne, also one thing to note - the SubD > Create > From file command is not a general purpose .obj importer that can work with any type of .obj file.

It's meant to work on polygon mesh data that has been structured as a control cage for applying sub-d smoothing.

And better if your OBJ object is "quadrangulated"! ;)
