Offset calculation fail

Good day.
I am trying to do an offset on an odd shaped part and it gives me calculation failed.
the only way I could get a offset line out of it is to draw a small line and the desired distance and sweep it.
Attached the file.

Is there a way to offset or where are my problems?
Thanks!

Hello Matadem,

I am able to get offset ( I tried 1-10 units)

Edit: pleas be more specific you want to have offset over an edge? or the surface?

Yes I should have been more specific. on the attached pic the highlighted line with green arrow would not offset inwards.
Outwards had no problem...the only solution I could come out with is 2 draw a small line (red arrow) and sweep around.

Funny thing is I have reopened the file and the offset works now :/

Could it be my struggling laptop? Dell xps 8gb i5?

Thank you!

XG.

Hi Matadem, your curve here was just very slightly off from being planar, that might have something to do with it.
