Just to say hello! (and a small question)

Hi there!

Just a small note to say HELLO! :-)

I'm playing these days with the 90 days demo of Moi and I'm really IMPRESSED. It has been a long time since a 3D software has excited me in this way. And I have been working with 3D app for many years.

It is absolutely intuitive, simple and easy but at the same time extremely powerful. And an absolute delight to work with. Almost adictive.

Also, coming from Modo, and despite being two completely different types of modelers, I feel right at home. I have already configured most of the keyboard shortcuts in Moi to be the same as the ones I have in Modo.

At the moment I'm still testing the demo, but I'm already 99.9% convinced that I'll buy it.

MY CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHAEL FOR THE WORK DONE!

Just a small question: I'm still using my iMac with Mojave and Moi works like a charm here. Not a single crash or glitch in the 15 days that I've been testing it. But:

HOW DOES MOI 4 WORK WITH MONTEREY?

It is clear to me that sooner or later I will have to update the system (I don't ask if Moi is already updated for the M1s, it is enough for me that it works fine on an “old” iMac i7 from 2017).

THANKS!

Hi Cristobal, thanks I'm really glad you are liking MoI!

re:
> HOW DOES MOI 4 WORK WITH MONTEREY?

It seems to be working fine on there. I think there was some kind of glitch introduced with an OS security update on certain graphics hardware but the latest OS update seems to have fixed it.

re:

The current Intel MoI v4 runs great on M1 machines using Rosetta2. The next v5 release of MoI will be a universal binary that has both Intel and M1 code in it so that it can run natively on M1. That will be in the first v5 beta, I'm hoping to get that going soon here.

- Michael

Thanks for your quick reply, Michael! That is good news :-)

Even if my actual Mac is an Intel machine, is great to know that Moi is running great using Rosetta2 with modern chips and even better to know that v5 will run natively on M1.

Best regards.

I have both an iMac 27” (2017) and MacBook Air (M1) and have only experienced one minor anomaly which Michael resolved within 24 hours. Really great program with outstanding support! Best CAD purchase I’ve made.

Thanks for your feedback, Scott. Really appreciate.

I have seen, reading these forums here and there, that Michael is always giving to users a GREAT support. Apart from this fantastic piece of software, that is another good reason to dive into Moi

Hi Pilou!

Thanks for your warm and kind words!

One of the first thing I did with Moi is to open that old 2006 Nixus project (originally modeled with Rhino). And Moi is moving and working with those splines and surfaces fantastically.

(Just a small detail: your second link goes to an old & non functional url in my site, not to these forums…)

You alias “Frenchy Pilou” sounds familiar to me. Maybe you are also user of Modo and I saw you on those forums? (I already saw your site, full of interesting info about Moi. THANKS!)

These forums definitely rocks!

Yes i was in first hours of Modo forum but this one is becoming a very big "prog" costly for elite and very "performative users" ;)

Corrected! ;) https://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=1684.9

Wow! That was an old thread: June 2008! I feel too old right now :-D

Too bad you can no longer see the PaQ images in the first post. He is a GREAT artist. I remember to see fantastic works from him in the Modo forums.
