Salvation!
Do you know Albert Karlen's hourglasses?
I discovered them on the site "L'air du bois" a French site on which I am registered. They are beautiful virtual objects, created with AutoCAD and maybe also with the help of fusion 360. I was more particularly interested in Hourglass 12. Could we do it with MoI3D, no doubt, but in what way?
For information, if you are registered on the site, you can download objects (carpentry, cabinetry, etc.) in many formats. The .stp format is in my opinion the one that offers the best import for MoI3D.
What is interesting about hourglass # 12 is that you can also download a .dwg file with its plans, which can be converted to .dxf to be imported into MoI3D.
So there you have it, everything in hand (or almost!) To make the Hourglass 12.
I started to realize, a little more complicated than I would have thought, but full of questions and very educational for me.
I think this hourglass could be the subject of a tutorial. Okay, that's not in my expertise. Also, I put at your disposal the file of the plans which I corrected of some defects of acute angles and alleviated of the superfluous; but you can start again from the original plans by downloading them on the very good site "the woods air". in addition, an image of my modest achievement and the original in MoI3D.
I would also like to know the method you would use to make the main part of the hourglass. It would help me to progress, even if I am satisfied with my result.
I did a bit of "Advertising" by including MoI3D in the site's software list!
