I can select a group of objects by drawing a marquee - in standard (L to R) or crossing (R to L) mode. That's fine.
I was hoping I could area de-select in a similar way - typically in other software by holding down a modifier key.

Is this possible?

Hi Viewbyte, yes if you hold down the Ctrl key while dragging a selection window it will deselect targeted objects instead of selecting them.

Ah - I see the issue. I prefer to have preferences set to:
Multiple selection = only with Shift key

Ctrl drag doesn't seem work with that set.

Can it be made to work in that circumstance?

Hi Viewbyte, that's a good example of why it isn't necessarily so great to have a ton of different modes for things. It's easy for there to be bugs in the stuff that is not the default behavior.
