Hi,
is it possible to attach dimensions to points or edges, solids etc., so if I more objects around the dimensions get automatically updated?
(I got it, MoI is primarily think and plan first, model second, but sometimes things change :) )

Hi NaN, dimensions in MoI are independent objects and there isn't any way to link them to an object.

However, as Pilou shows above if you're going to transform an object by moving or scaling it, select the dimensions along with the objects and let them be moved and scaled as well. Dimensions will update their displayed value when they themselves are scaled, unless you have overridden the dimension text to a fixed value.

Thanks for the demo, looks as expected. Must be doing something wrong?
I take the dimension tool click on the point where it should start and where it should end. If I then move stuff around the dimensions stay where they are.

Ah, sorry, didn't see your response. Yepp, when I select them together with the to be moved/scaled object then it works.
