Hallo,
maybe my question is kind of noobish but i couldn't find anything to ease my pain hance have to bother you:)
Please tell me if you know how can i select multiple entries with similar names.
I have hundreds of objects with almost the same name and want to export only them as FBX.
So far had to select them one by one and this is really annoying :)
Thanks in andvance

Cheers
Bo

Hi Bo, you can type in object names using wildcard characters in the XYZ input box to select similar named objects.

To do that type the Tab key first which will put keyboard focus into the XYZ input box at the bottom of the window.

Then if you type for example HEADLINER* and push Enter all objects that have a name starting with HEADLINER and followed by any characters will get added to the selection.

You can also use ? to match just one character, like LAMP_? would match LAMP_X and LAMP_Y but not LAMP_XY .

Hi WN, what version of MoI are you using? It was broken in V4 betas until the last one.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
I realized this way only works for named objects.
I apologize.

Hi WN, yes that's correct it works on named objects and your file has no named objects in it.

Very nice feature, I was looking for it too, thanks!
It's just a pity that the search [in this case - SM] does not highlight assets that are locked.

Hi krass,

re:

That's intentional because the effect of locking is that a locked object cannot be selected.

I've attached a script here that you can use for this purpose though, use by typing in:
ul name

So like in your case there you'd type in:
ul DoorBox*

That should then match locked objects as well which will get unlocked and selected.
