Snap at intersection of line and arc?

I have attached a MoI file. I was wondering why there is no snap when the arc crosses the line. Is this just the way it is or could I have created the objects differently?

It's not really a big deal, because I can just trim the arc afterwards.

Hi Andre, that was an oversight that the ArcCenter command did not do the setup stuff to enable that kind of intersection when the radial intersection mechanism was added to the pointpicker.

If you update your MoI installation to use the attached version here that should fix it. This ArcCenter.js file goes over place of the original one inside the application's commands folder.

Oh, that was easy. Would it be possible to use the same magic to get a tangent snap when moving a line to a circle?

Hi Andre, sorry no the radial snap used for the arc drawing snap doesn't have any relation to that type of tangent snap. That would need a new mechanism in the point picker to do that so it's not something that can happen by adjusting a command script like the previous one.

There are a couple of different ways you can get the result you want there though, one way is by drawing a helper line from the center of the circle and then snapped perpendicular to the line. That will give you an intersection point at the spot you need:
