Hi guys

I can not create a conjunction between the two pieces .... I thought of making a sweep of a half curve around the perimeter of the objects but I can not .... what am I wrong?

Hi Tony, do you mean you want to make a surface to fill in the thin amount of empty space between these 2 pieces?

One method you could use is Loft, you would select 2 edges like this:

Then run Construct > Loft to build a loft surface between those edges:

Then select the resulting surface and the other original pieces and use Edit > Join to glue them together.

If you want a smooth surface between them you could try using Construct > Blend instead but you probably will need to open up a little more space between them to give room for the blend to be shaped.

Hi micheal,

no I want to join the two parts but create a surface that makes it clear that the two pieces are separate .... I had thought of making a sweep with a half circle facing inwards but I can't.

Hi Tony, I didn't see any half circle in the file you posted, can you please post the .3dm file with the half circle in it that you tried to sweep?

Probably you will need to use Edit > Join to glue the edges that you want to sweep along into longer joined curves so they can be given as the rails for the sweep.

Thanks, - Michael

Tony -

Michael is correct. I'll add a couple of nuances:

An easy way to select the edges is to select one side of the hair blower and in the upper right of the browser, click the "Details" button. Then click where it says "10 naked edges", and then click Join in the Edit Menu. This makes a closed curve from your edges. Repeat for the other side of the hair blower.

Then draw an arc to connect the two closed curves and use it to sweep around the two closed curves. You can add points to the arc if you want to smooth out the sharp transition.

Hi micheal,

in the file there are only the two surfaces ... I drew the circle by hand to make you understand ... in fact if you see it is not precise ... I drew it without being precise ... just to make it clear what I wanted to do.

I will try as you indicated and as suggested by Ed Ferguson as well.

Hi Tony, so yeah you can put in an arc using arc 3pts like this:

Then prepare the rails by joining together the edges so you've got 2 long closed
curves as described above, then you can select the arc and run Construct > Sweep,
select the rails and get this result (3dm attached too):

Thanks Michael

I did not like the sweep command because there was an unselected edge (I think I hide) I rebuilt the curves and everything is ok .... thanks again
