Hi Michael,
I was wondering if I could get you to post any screenshots and info related to Sculptura and Sculptura 2?

In "Spare" time without taking away from JG or the rabbit!

This is purely a knowledge/curiosity thing. So, only if it paints your bubble to discuss it. :o

Hi Burr, here are a couple of things. This is from 28 years ago! There isn't much stuff from Sculptura 2, after maybe something like a year or so into it I decided to rename it to Rhinoceros.

@Pilou, re:

No that's something different.

Yeah back then things had to be pretty efficient or else they just wouldn't work.

Let's see - system requirements for Sculptura 1.1:

quote:

IBM-compatible PC with 386 or higher processor.

4 MB RAM. A math coprocessor is strongly recommended.

Microsoft Windows 3.1

1 MB hard disk space to hold program files.

At least it was expected that you would have a hard drive! ;)

Just ludicrous...

Did you have more of a passion for the geometry, or graphics programming....

Hopefully your professor gave you good points, or they look silly now...

Hi Burr,

> Did you have more of a passion for the geometry, or graphics programming....

Well I had a lot of interest in computer graphics from Amiga computers.

> Hopefully your professor gave you good points, or they look silly now...

I was in a kind of unusual college (The Evergreen State College) that didn't give letter grades, just written evaluations.

It`s impressive story with that Sculptura software.

I haven`t known that you are important part of Rhino history too.

Now I know why your MoI mesher (exporter) is best ;). I`ve found it gives me better results than Rhino. It`s also much simpler to tweak.

Cheers!!!

Wow, cool!

I love such digital history. I used to be a game developer for the Amiga, MS-DOS and Windows, including version 3.1.

Hi Michael.

re:

The age of the Commodore Amiga has been a unique true gem and a milestone of the whole history of computer science :)
