Just a minor thought.. I'm not sure if it was your intention, but the Robot looks like a 'miniature' , shot in a studio with some smoke. Reminds me of the old stop-motion films. I think it's probably the Depth of Field that is giving me that scale perception... Anyways, its a compliment. I could picture this in some b-movie from the 50s.
