Fillet is not giving me any results

Hey,

I`m completely new here. Have been playing with Moi3d for the first couple of days and I`m facing an issue with the Fillet. Couldn`t find the solution anywhere on the internet. I attached the picture.

So basically what happens is that when I try to make fillet on these edges nothing happens, it gives me no results. But when I apply fillet to a whole model it works. Any reason why?

I attached the moi3d project file too.

Really hope somebody could help me.
Thank you.

Hi merdock, filleting of just some edges that come together at a sharp point instead of all edges is quite a bit more difficult for the fillet engine because fillets have to be intersected against each other instead of being able to come to a corner juncture patch.

Just take some segments more...

Else you must make by Hands! (Arcs Tangent - Trim - Loft etc...)

Better was to draw the perimeters Top / Bottom with its rounded angles!

Hey, thank you!

But what about the corners which I would like to be more rounded than the others? It seems there is no solution to that. I have to apply the same amount of fillet for all the edges. I wonder if there is a way around.

Let`s say I want this edge (marked red) to have a bigger radius. Any solution?

Take a look to the Variable Fillets...but only during the building...not after closed the Fillet function!

Hi merdock, yes you're correct there isn't any way to do that currently. I have an idea for enabling that in the future, by having "edge sets" that you can build up to specify different radius values for different edges. Currently you can make "point sets" for specifying the radius value at a specific point for variable radius fillet but there is only one edge set currently.

Hi merdock.

It can be done by creating 3 curves of the surfaces (1,2,3) then with partial Loft 1-2 and 2-3, but you have to know exactly what final result you want.
Then on surface 1 the holes with the green curves are cut.
Then the extrusions are made on surface 1, they are joined to the extrudes, and the fillets that you want are made.
Now it only remains to join the 3 surfaces and you will have a solid.
