Dear all,
this is the first time I post here and let me say, it's a great day for me!
First of all, MOI IS THE BEST TOOL OF ITS KIND! I'm not going to say why, you already know that, but I needed to drop this here!
Second, the UI...it's not that great but it' quite easy to be modified (despite the lack of updated documentation or tools). Anyway, what I wanted to do was to get rid of the old fashioned WinXPired buttons and colours, making them a little less old and more flat. What I did is "simply" editing the moi.css file (how much I wanted to have a visual map of those commands inside the file!) to change colours and shape of buttons and adapting just one PNG in the original MOI resources.
Anyway, let me give the honour to share this tiny contribution to an amazing piece of software (thanks mr. Gibson!).
Here you may find the following:
- modified moi.css
- modified ViewportForeground.png (the little picture that visually describes the border of the modelling viewports. It needed to be recoloured in order to match the updated windows background color
- comparison (moi.css.changes.pdf) between the original (in red) moi.css and the modified one (in green)
- screenshots of the original and modified UI
In order to test it you just have to replace the original moi.css and ViewportForeground.png and then restart MOI. I did it on MOI V4 on macOS, but I guess it should work on Windows too. I have no idea if this would work on previous versions of MOI, I did not test it.
Of course, any comment will be welcomed!
Happy MOING!
