Hi Pilou,
when the work is sold as NFT, as understood, the artist remains
the copyright, but the person who has obtained an NFT has then
the ownership and can for example resale the NFT for a higher price.
The costs involved for an artist, when minting his artwork, as understood,
can vary drastically due to the changing ETH gas costs.
While the idea of NFTs is per se not bad, and I told my thoughts about
that Paris Hilton and Edward Snowden, on Twitter, I think it is a rip-off,
because only rich people, having lot's of crypto currency can afford
NFTs while the artist low on budged has no chance or a minimal chance
to get promoted or to sell his art and users low on budget, admiring
an artist can't afford the high ETH price tags.
If you follow the NFT scene closely on Twitter, for example, you will
see what I mean. Another disadvantage, at least for users in Germany,
is that you are fully registered at these portals, with your *online* usage
wallet, so that in case you are successful you have to report you income
for taxes, according to German law. In case if NFTs would be Bitcoin or
Monero etc. based than this would be better for decentralization and
privacy for the artists.
Don't get me wrong, I wish Christian and every other 3D Artist much
success and good luck in selling their NFTs, but I personally do not
like the hype and the scheme how this all is handled.
Regards
Stefan
