No, you will have the same behavior after the trial as you currently have.
The issue is that MoI v4 by default will write a Rhino v5 3dm file version. That's so it can support the new dimension entities and also have 64-bit chunk sizes so the file size isn't limited to 2GB.
You can modify this in moi.ini , go to Options > General > "Edit .ini file" button, and in moi.ini set:
[3DM]
Version=4
That will change it to write Rhino v4 3dm files instead of Rhino v5 3dm files (unless you have any dimension/annotation objects in the file) which will then open up in Moi v2 ok.
