I've seen a lot of sample OBJ files that use the \ continuation, so I would be surprised if someone did not support it.

Hmm, I see - it wasn't mentioned in the more detailed spec that I found but that seems to be missing an introduction section or something.

It is an area that I'm not really comfortable with messing around with right before the V1 release, but I will put it on my list as an option to add for V2.
