Would it be possible to break up the very long OBJ lines you create for an ngon (f)ace. I suggest only 4 vertices per line (so the longest line is no longer than with quads) and then use the OBJ line continuation (backslash).

Hi Al - I didn't know there was such a thing as a OBJ line continuer.

I can't seem to find it mentioned in the spec (one source here: http://www.martinreddy.net/gfx/3d/OBJ.spec), do you have any reference for that?

I would suspect that many programs would not be able to read in OBJs structured like that.

I've seen a lot of sample OBJ files that use the \ continuation, so I would be surprised if someone did not support it.

Hmm, I see - it wasn't mentioned in the more detailed spec that I found but that seems to be missing an introduction section or something.

It is an area that I'm not really comfortable with messing around with right before the V1 release, but I will put it on my list as an option to add for V2.
