Hi, a symbol I have to attach to my ring,
I´m not so happy with it.
One is, that not every spline at the top I can do the fit fillet operation.
And I ask me if there is a smarter idea than mine to make a good shape of the yymbol in connection with the ring element?
Ideas?
I took the splines. Extruded them. And made a boolean operation with a sphere...hmmm...

3dm file ;)
Normally Extrude, Boolean Union & and Filled the intersection...
or the Flow function...
Depending of what do you want exactly! :)

With your 3dm file, it's easier to give you possibilities.

A possible way to do soft logo without filetting is to use BlendCap script.
But it's not applicable with all logos.

1- You extrude your curves
2- You delete the top cap
3- You select the top edge. Beware to have a single edge
4- You use blendcap
5- You flow your logo.

Hi Mala,

re:
> upload does not work...tried it several times.

There is a limit of 50MB of attachment space per user, to help avoid having the web server get totally filled up. If you have hit this limit you'll need to delete some of your previous attachments before you'll be able to upload more.

You can do that by clicking "Options" on the Top and then "Attachments" on the left side menu.

Hi Mala, those shapes have tight bends in them which will complicate filleting. When you have a bend where the fillet radius is larger than the radius of the bend it will cause the fillet to bunch up on itself like this:

You have also the native Construct / Blend, Nsided, NetWork functions for some cases...

Here Blend

Here Nsided (be careful to not take "curves on your selection! Only edges!

Advantage of Nsided : you can SUbDiv at the end! (object on the left! )

Implemented the JS blendcap script.
I tried one time and it worked.
But now, don´t know why, I alway get this message...

P.S.: And the edges are closed.

For the object on the right a little trick is necessary!
Extrude, sSplit, and kill the "door"

About the message !

All these functions use only edges!

So Hide or Erase the "curves" before launch these functions!

About NetWork it's slightly different :)

you must have 2 perimeters and one "Latitude" & one "Longitude" minimum curves at 90° or not at all!!!
free to you after to move the points of the curves as you want...
The curves can be moved till the end of the session! (if object is not modified of course)
Generally not SubDivisible!

Following with any Longitude / Latitude Angles
You can imagine the infinite possibilities! :)

...you go through one thing...next challenges are waiting surely...
BlendCap works. The boolean operation works for the point but not for the 3...hmmm´...why?

Hi Mala,

re:

A couple of different things - one is that your base object is not a solid so you will probably need to use Edit > Trim to cut it instead of booleans. Booleans are based on determining which pieces to keep and which to discard based on what solid volume they are contained inside of. When your base object is not a solid it will have difficulty doing that job.

Then also looking at the underside of your object, it's not good to boolean objects that are barely skimming over the same surface area, for a boolean it's better for objects to push through each other by some amount instead of barely skimming each other:

I believe your 2 objects are false!
Because we can't make a fillet after Boolean Union

I have drawn anything that works as aspected...
So redraw your objects!

PS Michael was more speedy than me! :)

A speedy method with your false objects will be in front view to trim them by a line near their base
Kill the bottom trimed volumes surfaces
(resize if you want in any direction)

Move them to surface start

Now all can work as aspected with the Flow method

Boolean result on the curvated target surface

Make the Fillets if necessary
