V4 what a surprise

Well Michael Gibson, just trying the trial of V4 and it is certainly making a major difference with the 64 bit version.

I have just loaded one of my large sat files with quite a few objects in and at high precision, the file size was nearly 800 meg
on disk and it clocked up 12.5GB in memory which is very impressive and to boot with hidden line fully zoomable and easy to rotate.

I have a few things to try yet but will almost certainly be making a purchase in the near future.

Congrats on all your hard work which even from day 1 and my first test looks very impressive.

Michael Geraghty.

Thanks Michael, I'm glad to hear that it is performing well for that!

In v4 in addition to the 64-bit-ness, there has also been performance work on CAD file imports to use multiple CPU cores when loading 3DM/STEP/IGES/SAT files and also improvements in the display engine to make use of larger amounts of VRAM on modern video cards. So those all go together pretty well for being able to handle heavy models that would have choked v3.
