Hello, I need an area on my ring geometry that is slip-resistant. I want to achieve this through two things. Once a fold, as I have already described and implemented here.
But then also through a rough surface. Similar to the one in the photo.
Do you have an idea for the implementation? Tomorrow I will talk to the mold maker whether it is enough to determine the sequence and he will then program the machine there for rough ...

Google "Texturing molds for thermoplastics: factors for success" at Moldmakingtechnology.com.
The metal mold, (steel? / aluminum?), is etched with ferris chloride, or nitric acid, or ?.
Residual EDM sutface?
Smooth areas are masked off.

I believe that you have just to make some works' color to your object!

Say Blue for the rough surface, other color(s) for all special surfaces...
and then your 3D Print (?) will follow these colors for each different material you want...

Is beautiful that please without concept!

If it was a 3D printed part, Cura slicer has a fuzzy skin option for a rough surface on parts.

Hi Mala, yes it would be best to discuss this with the mold maker, it's not very feasible to try and directly model that type of bumpy surface in a CAD program.
