Hi, before I try your new suggestion on Modelling a Böbbel I faced me with a new "little" Böbbel. Filleting. It is a simpler object.
Why isn´t it possible to fillet the yellow lines?
best, Mala

Your object is not a solid!

And if you want Fillet only the section you must Join it first!

PS You can also select only one point !

Hi Mala, this juncture is a difficult case for the filleter to handle:

It's a type of "mixed convex/concave" shaping where the fillets on either side of that area are difficult to join together, it kind of makes a hole to be formed where they meet:

It could probably help to reduce the number of edges by having some larger surfaces instead of diced up pieces.

Hi Mala, you can try filleting with this version but the juncture patches at those corner regions I was pointing at above are messed up and will need to be deleted and something else patched in their place.

And then if you do all of these at once it would be able to put in a good corner in that spot:

Thanks for that Michael. My filetting-operation failed in your file...is it important in which sequence I select before filleting?

P.S.: it is ok - i took the other side. Now it worked.

Hmmm´...I had to reconstruct it. But now I still face the same problem that I cannnot do the filetting. I tried so many stitching the parts together like Michael. No way. How was Michaels version stitched together in order to operate with filetting?

Hi Mala, try the attached version.

I used a trick to export this joined curve out to SAT format which will fuse it together into one piece, then re-imported it, revolved it and trimmed it:

That gets rid of one edge coming off of that difficult corner spot which will help it to be able to fillet:

What a wonderful and elegant trick! And I worked through one of them and certainly didn't dare ask myself because I couldn't manage it.
In any case, that saved my day and so did other others ...
Thank you very much ... maybe I should use the SAT trick on "Modeling a Böbbel" ...
Best, and thanks for Saturday-Work...Mala

Hello, filleting new edges:
Would you please take a look at this geometry. I tried to filleting edges. But it didn´t work. Also the ExportImport-Trick didn´t work.
Ideas?
Best, Mala

Hi Mala, re: filleting - there's a few different things going on there. One is that your object is made up of several separate surfaces, you need to join those together for the filleter to be able to do anything on those edges. You can't fillet a "naked edge", meaning one that is not joined between 2 faces.

Then the other thing is you don't want to have things like faces that are part of the same plane to be diced up into pieces, you need to make one large plane for those spots instead of having fragmented faces. I'm referring to these areas here:

The other thing that I did is to make this spot be a revolved surface that intersects with these planes rather than having it be built by Network which makes for some awkward shaping in it:

So try with the attached version it should fillet better:

- Michael

For find naked edges...
script: /* Show Naked edges*/ var gd = moi.geometryDatabase; gd.deselectAll();
var breps =gd.getObjects().getBreps(); for ( var i = 0; i < breps.length; ++i )
breps.item(i).getNakedEdges().setProperty( 'selected', true );

(Sry. for delay...had a switch of my internet conections...)

Using the script shows the complete desaster of my modelling. Almost all lines are highlighted...hmmm´...I will work through Michaels flow...
Obviously the connect and bool/connect command do not stitch every surface together. I must try to look behind this...

First of all thank you Michael for the way you showed me.
I had to reconstruct it and now I got two problems:
Altthoug the scipt of Frenchy tells me "noLostEdges at the filleting seams - I cannot do the fillet. Tried pretty much...where is my mistake?

And...I tried the workflow bending the geometry and it was ok. But now the geometry is at opposit site. Is there a simple way to bring it vice versa like at the screenshot sketched?

Hi Mala, so if I understand correctly you are trying to fillet the object in Goal.3dm with these edges? :

The main thing that would help to make filleting possible there would be to make these into just one longer surface instead of fragmented into multiple pieces:

The corner here will be difficult for the filleter to handle:

But if this edge was not there it would help:

> And...I tried the workflow bending the geometry and it was ok. But now the geometry is at opposit site.

Sorry I'm not understanding this part.

I redrawed but I still cannot filleting the relevant edges.
The script told me the filleting edges are not naked...no idea anymore...
