Hi,
I made a simple sweep for a ring.
I swept the ring and I can edit its lines diameter and the ring body changes. But I cant do this for new rings?
Why? I need creating the editable sweep...
Cheers, Mala

Hi Mala,

I think that many, or most, newly created objects have a (temporary) History, which enables some post adjustments to the generating curves, to modify the created object.
Probably the History is lost when the final object is re-loaded (?)

Michael is the expert, and confidential files can be sent to him, in the event a user needs a little guidance.
His "address" is ???

- Brian

The other MoI users/ forum members also provide excellent help.

I think that the History memory buffer is limited in size, and size is adjustable (?)
Do not know exactly how it works.

Hi Mala, the edit mechanism behind that is called "History" or "Construction history", that's just what Brian was mentioning above.

You should be able to do it to new rings too, if you have an example where it is not updating can you please post the .3dm model file for it so I can take a look?

One thing that I should mention though is that if you have done some more operations on the sweep like used a boolean on it, then currently that is normal that you will lose the history update in that case.

But if it is just only the sweep without anything else done to it that should be editable through history updates.

Hi Mala,

re:
> The rings...

It helps a lot if you can please post the .3dm model file for your objects instead of a screenshot.

With the .3dm model file there is a lot more that can be done like I can rotate around and examine your objects and figure out what's going on. With a screenshot I'll usually have to make a guess at what is going on instead of being able to examine your particular case.

Thanks, - Michael

Something in relation with the title and maybe history ;)

If you draw the "Profil" out of the "Bounding box" of the Rail
you can draw them on the same plane for make a "tore" ! ;)

So it's very easy to modify the Profil for change the result of the sweep
and this all along the session!
