obj-Export with "_1" Suffix

Hi RJ well the names in the .obj file don't have any _1 on them, this can be seen by opening up the .obj file in a text editor.

Also there isn't any _1 present when importing them into other programs, for example here with Silo and Rhino:





So that would lead me to conclude that it's the C4D importer that is deciding to add the "_1" suffix. Are you bringing the file into a model that already has some existing objects with those names? If so then maybe the C4D importer decides to append a counter onto the new imports.

Maybe there is some option in Cinema4D to control that. For more information you will probably have to ask Cinema3D tech support since it's being added by their importer.

Hi Michael,
oh man .... - you are absolutely right!! I have now taken a close look at the input dialog and there is a combobox ("Splitting") - by default it is "By Object" (which give the _1 suffix) but when you enter "By Identical name" then you get the object name exact as in Moi3D. Sorry for this stupid question - I should have looked into it more closely before. THX for your help!! Best, Robert
