yeah I get that thanks.

I was thinking about something more sophisticated (sorry) :) like bezier curves with nodes? as we do have in the 2d software like illustrator and so on. I think that also 3dsmax use 3d beziers with nodes.

I'm asking because im just curious its not a feature request :) or anything like that

Hi Adam, currently there isn't any way to switch a corner point into a smooth point but it is something I want to add in.

Right now you can delete the corner point and add in a new smooth point if you want though.

Looking at your sweep.3dm file, changing the node type would probably not be suitable for your particular case as-is because one of the curves has dense control points. Switching a point type could make it smooth but there would be a really tight bend in a small area.

Hey Micheal,

Thanks! Yes now I understand how it works. Mucho Kudos for that. And now I want more :) hehe. yes conversion would be great. You could also add a double click option. I will provide a mock-up :)
So the idea is: when I double click on the curve it goes automatically into - point edit mode -> show points - I can then select, move points and now if I double click on the point again it will convert it automatically into smooth or corner. When you double click again outisde the curve it will deselect it and hide your points - Sleek :D
This proved to be the fastest way to edit points software like Sketch-app and others use that recently. As I can see you don’t use a double click on the target right now.

Hi Adam, switching between a sharp vs smooth point isn't really something that needs to be done very frequently so it would not be a good target to try and optimize for a gesture-type quick access.

Points on/off is also similar, usually when you have points on you have them on for a while, it's not very common to want to turn on control points for just one second and then off again. So it's also not really a good target for a shortcut action either.

It tends to be bad overall to try and optimize actions that are not actually needed very frequently.

I'm still not sure what to do with double clicks though, I kind of like to stay away from them. Maybe if I can't figure it out at some point I could set it up so you could customize it. But they might be needed for some groups or instance editing functions though.
