Just a thought:
If a drawing, say in Top View, is rotated 180 degrees about an axis, will the dimensions be readable, or will they be upside down, or right to left?
Hi Brian, dimension text will automatically reorient so you won't see them reversed when viewed from "underneath" and also switch to be in left-to-right order, except text blocks don't do the left-to-right switch.
Here's a demo, also today I added in text box padding and an optional text box outline. At this moment everything has an outline turned on for testing that.
Hi Pilou, yes if you do something like scale them the text will update. There will be an option to override that with your own fixed text value if you want though.
Hi Brian, the new dimensions use only a tiny amount of memory. Text is stored just as a text string value not as a bunch of curve and surface geometry. It will definitely be a far better method for labels.
Hi Michael - a nice addition to the notes - good to give each cad program its own visual identity when creating notes and this one certainly gives that to MoI.
> When the next beta will be released with this new feature?
As soon as it's finished up! The remaining work is to set up UI for modifying the various properties, setting up commands for creating them, and seeing if I can get them exporting to DXF/PDF formats.
Hopefully none of these will take too long but it's pretty hard to know in advance exactly how long it will take.
