A small note.
For a more convenient navigation through the node diagram, place the diagram or its important part in the editor frame.
When you upload a file to the editor or exit the macro, the editor focuses on this frame.
This will make it easier for you and those who use your '.nod' file.
Yes the macro "retopoSurfs" is deprecated/obsolete.
I have a more recent macro "Retopologize" which works in its place.
Please find .nod file attached.
You can also revive an old file. There is a file in the archive 'objects3.js ' extract it to the folder where your 'Nodeeditor' is located.
In many macros from this forum, you will encounter nodes from this file. For example 'Concat2'.
Thank you all for your help and guidance.
However, I am in need of your help again.
Please take a look at the attached file. I tried to retopologize the surfaces you would find in the attached files they are named: "1" "2" & "3" surfaces "2 and "3" are joined surfaces (so they consist of two sub surfaces)
When I try to use either JFHsubD.nod or JFHsubD2.nod I cannot get a good retopologized surfaces out of surfaces "2" and "3" if there is a solution to this problem I would by happy if u let me know what that is! :-)
Hi Psygorn,
it does not work on joined surfaces also the surfaces must have 4 edges only.
You can rebuild your surfaces with network.
Also set 'U' and 'V' to the same as some times the surface U V are opposite.
Cheers
Barry
Do you have older versions of Nodeeditor? Where can I get them? Most links refer back to Max's original blog and you know it's almost a year that his weblog is out of reach!
Hi,
concat2 shows as red colour indicating its obsolete in my nodeditor.
You can replace it with the basics concat node and right click on it to change its operation to numbers.
Delete the concat2 node as the nodeditor will not run with obsolete nodes present.
Barry
Hi Psygorn.
The "concat" node only collects the numbers in the order of connection and passes them on, in this case it does not matter whether it is old or new.
Most likely, the "MathPts" node has formulas and they are visible only in the properties widget.
I do not know this formula.
There is also a 'mode' setting in the nodes it also affects the result.
I had this idea to recreate what James has done on his instagram, and then latter share it with others who want to study nodeeditor and nodes ; but now I think it would be a very hard task! Maybe only james can share his works!
What do u think?
Also, I tried to put the parametric formula for "trefoil knot" in Mathpoints node but it still doesn't give me what I want (Jame's Instagram post). (check the attached node file)
Psygorn, James first shared his works, but then deleted them.
Max was also available at first, now the site is not working.
I think we should go our own way, but it will end sometime.
If you have the desire and the time, do it.
Psygorn, the knowledge and skills of those guys that I mentioned above and many other smart people also did not appear by themselves.
As long as there is a desire, then everything will be fine.
