Hi Neil, there are 3 surfaces in that file and they look like this:

So that's clearly not a result of mirroring, there aren't separate pieces across a center mirror line like a mirror operation would create.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you mirrored though, was it the curves before building the surfaces? If you can post a file that is ready to repeat the mirror that you did that would help.

Yes I apparently had several drawings combined there - which is a bad habit I need to break - constantly redrawing and not deleting - anyway - started over and used the aligning tools as Ferguson suggested and it turned out great. I'll be aligning everything from now on. :)

Hi
Your construction lines are curious and non symetrycal.
I don't understand why you want to do something complicated for this part of the model.

Thanks for pointing out all my mistakes. This one is simpler and more symmetrical. I used MoI 3 and only the basic commands.

it's better but there's still a little problem with that curve junction.

Thanks for the tip - didn't apparently understand when you suggested it - found out today that I've been trying to use network where blend would be more appropriate.

Some models made with MoI over the last few months. . . The Blue rendering is a customer order - the red rendering is a modification with a traditional bridge route - just to have on hand. Both the red and blue guitars are semi-hollow so the model is made in three parts, chambered body, routed top and pickguard. The chambered body has a bridge pickup route modeled to suit either top. The other guitars are playing around with shields as we are building a stadium for the Raiders football team and our hockey team is the Golden Knights - both of which have shields in their logos. Thanks for taking a look. Should be milling these in next month.

The link is for a impromtu video showing the milling of this guitar modeled in MoI - thanks for looking. Just made it today. Will show it again after the finish is applied. Although not in the video the pickguard was milled with the same machine - made a mistake on this one but it's good for showing the idea.
