I like modeling in NVil more than modo 601, silo or my old 3ds max.

There isn't much in the way of training, but I found that referencing the Smart Tips panel and fiddling around it's not hard to figure out. If you are familiar with other poly modelers the routines are pretty standard. It's also worth while going through the Modeling section of the NVil Help.

I just checked it and looks like nothing new in it, just some bug fixing and 64 bit support. But it still have big lack of different tools.

I was pretty excited about the silo update too a while back. Unfortunately it's still riddled with instability. I've experienced far too many fatal crashes with even 2.31 to be able to use it comfortable in the knowledge that I wont lose work.

investigating Nvil now again just for the fun of it:)

I installed the Silo update to have a look. After I installed it I kept getting a message to back up my encrypted certificate. Never seen that before, so I uninstall it.

NVil against Blender ?

Like 'em both, but NVil better for modeling.

No NVil is only for modeling. It is dedicated software and this is its strength.

Does anyone know if NVil might run on a Macintosh under Wine emulation? It sounds like quite a program, but there's no Mac version.

Samardac Bridges 1.1

Updates:

1. Samardac Bridges now is portable application so uninstal previous version and use this one.

2. When you go from KeyShot to NVil or MoI, using Bridges, it will Pause KeyShot. So KeyShot will not consume CPU when you not use it.

3. New functions to KeyShot Bridge was added. Now you can reload last model if something went wrong when you imported it. Check this screen:

Is there a trial period for nvil? But I really dislike the viewport in nvil, will they made a better viewport soon in nvil? this would be great.

I'm sad about silo, it seems they don't take care for a 'fast' progress :(
