"… The first one from my new set of tools for subdiv modeling."

That’s good news Max. Even if your planned toolkit handles just the basic SubD functions, it sounds like many of the organic shapes people attempt to make in MoI might be possible.

For someone who is already comfortable using MoI and doesn’t require SubD often enough to completely learn a new program, your scripts can fill a real need.

Thanks everyone for positive comments :)

I rewrote the Bridge script. No new functions at the moment, but internal logic has been changed. This is a first step to bended bridges.
Also I wrote a script for polygon splitting. As Bridge it's very simple right now.
I decided to write all subdTools scripts with basic functionality, and only after that I'll start to improve them.

Totally awesome. I'm well covered with SubD tools, but being able to do this in MoI and with NURBS is awesome!

Thank you so much!

Just a wish...
Is it possible Subdivision command was not destructive ???
I would like to keep my original "polygon" model, just have a "visualization" of the subdivided object and can modified the surface like in a traditional 3D polygonal modeler.
Thanks for your very good job !
Thanks a lot Max !!

I was having fun with Max's newest subD tools. While experimenting with shapes I thought, "Hey - that looks like a Boom Box" So why not just finish it off :)

Red shape using Max's subD tools. Speaker grills and display lens using MoI revolve tool.

Max.

Brilliant work like this shouldn't go unrewarded.
Can I suggest you get a Bitcoin wallet and start accepting donations through it?

Hey Max,

"""""""""I decided to write all subdTools scripts with basic functionality, and only after that I'll start to improve them."""""""""""

As someone who would love for you to start pumping out tools, I wanted to ask about the initial subD Command you've written.

Is there any more that can be done with this? Mostly regarding the lack of tangency and curvature between patches...... (It's kindof a killer for me personally)

Going along with your quote above, maybe you could do "all that you can" with this as the "main tool of the bag", before all the "timesaver" trick scripts.....

Thanks again :)

Hi BurrMan

>>maybe you could do "all that you can" with this as the "main tool of the bag", before all the "timesaver" trick scripts.....

I have some difficulties with subd script. Unfortunatelly Moi javascript tools has very limited nurbs functionality. I can build curves of degree 2 or 3 only. I can't ajust control points weights. I can't build curves with double knots. etc..
So I need to find the way how to improve my script in this situation. But right now I'm tired of it. I need to switch to something else. So I decided to take a rest and write several simple scripts. After few weeks I'll continue my experiments with the main script.

Excellent! What a productivity! Bravo!

PS sScale : what is the difference with View Points and use the Edit Frame ?

A trick for the sSplit : don't select the volume only, but select the volume then use the Browser for select faces! ;)
