no, I've done that with many cylinders, using
1. transform/array/curve,
2. transform/array/dir and than
3. the boolean-difference-function.

I have no idea how the flow-function exactly works. It's always a try&error game for me to build a perfect tire like you described on your homepage http://www.k4icy.com/tutorials.html

Philips portable record player







This kind of player was very popular here in Europe,it plays just 7" vinyl (45rpm )
So i got a question for you Americans:what is the right name for this?
I mean,doin' a search on the net (typing on Google image search=portable record player) i found on English sites just this kind of players,but these are turntables that can be opened, with an arm,a case with a handle..portable






I didn't found a compact one,like the model i did:totally closed,just insert your vinyl 7" and automatically start play.

Here another famous model shows what i mean.


I got suspect that these was producted just in Europe? Please gimme some information

so it gave me inspiration and final result turned out -Funk-
it's also a little tribute to JB and Sly Stone (they created that kind of music ! )

Probably just a 'Portable Turntable'. But I wouldn't know, I had them when I was a kid, but by the time I was a teen we had "boom boxes" to play cassette tapes.

I dont think there will be "slang" for it. When I was a kid we just called them "record players" so for me, it would just be a "portable record player". "Urban dictionary" is a relatively new concept in that "all things must have some stupid, American slang".

Although, that thing is pretty Righteous, man!

Thanks Burr:we use a particular name for it so i supposed you too got a different name instead of general-portable record player-
regarding use of Urban Dictionary,many times comes in help to understand the meaning of phrases used like slangs
you are right:often we link American with slang,so a kind of easygoing leaguage opposite to English,linked to Oxford an so..
if i listen to a rap song i can understand 10%,if i listen to Annie Lennox i can understand 70%
(that's why she is Scottish,they use to pronunce -R- in a strong way like us Latins,so i easier.That's my mother-leanguage english teacher told me..)
