One of the biggest God-forsaken companies on the planet, sells off SU because it thinks someone else can make it better?
Wasn't Google trying to bid 3 trillion to own some radio spectrum from the FCC?.... really? They can't sling a little dough into a small-town warehouse to put to work some engineering and programming grads looking for a break?

I'll give you all two words that will become an eminent reality: "PRICE INCREASE".

Google gets bored easily. They start, then shed projects more than any company I'm aware of.

Let's see, what can we do with all our money this week? I know, let's mine asteroids!

Crazy news. I can't see how it'll stay free though, as Trimble maintained in the Google blog. All of those industries Trimble caters too are rather pricey about absolutely everything. It's rather bizarre news format wise... 3ds, maya, houdini, shade, modo, ultimate unwrap, and so many others may have put the effort into dae probably because of sketchup. Wonder if Mr. Michael knew... hmm... anyhow... still want dae when you get time, lol.

Trimble started off selling high end GPS equipment. Their marketing is very aggressive. This doesn't bode well for SU users.
