Hi, all.

Long time reader, first time poster.
Had to stay at home today because of a nasty cold - and decided to kill some time by redoing a piece in MoI I once did in modo following a tutorial on CGTuts+. Ah, so much easier in MoI than struggling with hard surfaces in a subdivision surface modeler (as powerful as modo is).

Funny: I have absolutely no idea, what this thing is used for. It has something to do with music, right? ;-)
Thanks for this great piece of software!

That's one of my veins of modeling interests.
Indeed, nice model and render.

Hi Ikari, really nice result! I'm glad that MoI is helpful for doing these kinds of models more quickly for you!

Hi Ikari, great looking model/render!

Hey prop_design, do they make these for bass guitar, or does the one work for multiple string/octave instruments? I use to have a bunch of effects pedals, but a lead singer and guitarist childhood chum/friend of mine I use to play with (permanently with my blessing) borrowed them. He could always make better use of them than myself. You can check out his current band on MySpace. They are Phillis Chiller. Check 'em out. His son now plays bass for them. Funny what happens along a 30 year journey!

Maybe when I have the time, I might try to model up my Rickenbacker 4001 and Fender Fretless Jazz Bass Guitars.

Again, I have rambled senselessly for too long here. Memory lane.......

Ikari, thanks for the memories, and keep up the great work!

Hi,

I'm not sure if they work for a bass. I've never played bass. But they are great for electric guitar when you have multiple pedals etc... You can tune your guitar without it coming out the amp. I never played in anything but the standard scale so I think the pedal had a lot more features to it than I ever used. You nailed the model though, it looks just like the real thing. Really looks like a picture of it.

Thanks for the kind words.

I found this to be a great beginner's practice for a sub-d guy, as it was relatively easy to stay on known terrain:
It's a more or less blocky shape, so that extrusions, bevels (pardon me: fillets) and a few booleans got me 99 percent of the way. Just one percent left for lofting, sweeping, blending and all of the other exotic stuff you NURBS guys and girls spend your time with...;-)

And BTW: According to the manufacturer's website, this tuner can be used for guitars and basses alike.
