Any body have experience on how to create animation like video below, what kind of software they are using to produce this animation :

The interesting things are :

1. Gas / fluid movement
2. Belt movement

So in animation packages, they have things called "emitters" and "modifiers" (or various names) that do special things. Behaviors and stuff. Like for a spinning fan, you can just have a fan model, then you apply a "spinner" Behavior on it that will animate the fan blade spinning, and have params for speed, rotations per frame, blur etc...

Cheaper packages like Carrara have these, with add-ons available. Smoke, fluid flow etc. Then the price goes up for better quality...


Do you have Carrara yet? It's a good place to start... If you watch, you can always get it for free, or the price of a magazine.

Blender should be able to do it. It has smoke emitters, and I've seen tutorials for doing tank treads which could be used for the belt. And the best part is that Blender is FREE!
