Mike,

Either cpu or gpu but I think at this time it's only for Cuda enabled graphic cards. Here's a video that I find quite interesting: http://www.blenderguru.com/videos/introduction-to-cycles it's quite long but it's the best I've seen so far on Cycles. If you can, the best part start around 15 minutes into the video.

Thanks,
Felix

Hi, all

Cycles use GPU and CPU.

Considerate very fast CPU respect other similar softwares

Ex: Modeling Moi and Rendering CPU cycles unbiased 30' 350 samples

Thanks
Marco

Mark,

unless something as changed, Blender is not very friendly with normals, there where many post here on just that.

Blender removes vertex normals so not so good for importing MoI objects. This has been discussed before and Blender.Org have no intention of rectifying this major error.

Here is a thread exploring the capacities of Cycles (in spanish): http://www.foro3d.com/f114/reto-aprender-cycles-98141.html

It is in spanish, but the screenshots are very self-explaining. This thread is alive, then there will be more advances.

P.S. And I talked about cycles a time ago
