Yes, Octane is good and getting better.

But, SimLab renderer is also good and not very expensive and it comes with a great 3d pdf tool.

A couple of pretty inexpensive ones are SimLab Composer like eric mentioned (http://www.simlab-soft.com/) or Carrara (http://www.daz3d.com/i/software/carrara8)
