Csec and Lineweb

Hi,
I have been using both of these commands and was wondering if it was possible that
Csec could have an option to generate automatically its own sections as Lineweb does.
Or that a Close curve option could be added to Lineweb thus achieving the same thing.

Hi Barry, I've added a "Closed" option to LineWeb, I've updated the attachment in the original message:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=3666.10

It will show up as a checkbox located here:

Then if you enable it, it will make output like this:

Hope that helps!

- Michael

This is a great utility Michael. I can't help but think it's sorta related to Network.

Is is worth somehow making this functionality an option for the Network command?

Granted, network generates surfaces, and this generates curves (which I then tend to use for Network at the moment).

Either way, great stuff!

@ steve - thanks, I'm glad it will be useful!

@ Will - yeah it is kind of related to Network since it involves a gridwork of curves like Network uses. But yeah this command is focused on generating curves (or lines or points) and not a surface like Network is. I'm not really sure how I could combine it with Network without making the command more complex with more options and modes within it.

Select all the curves from your LineWeb or Csec, then select Network command. See if that get's you what you are looking for.

Hi Mario,

Well you can just use Loft directly on the original curves that you selected for LineWeb - it's not necessary to run LineWeb first if you want to loft a surface through a set of curves.

So for example if you have some curves like this:

Select them:

And then run Construct > Loft on them directly:

So note that there isn't any need to run LineWeb if you want to create a loft through those curves.

LineWeb is more for some special effects like if you want to use the curves to build tubes around them or cut them into segments to build panels or things of that nature.

For just creating a surface through the curves you don't really need to be use LineWeb at all, just use Loft by itself.

Thanks
