Glad it receives positive feedback. I will definitely mill it in wood.
I'll post an image of the real sculpture. Till then I worked on it in Zbrush.
Turned out more organic.

how about givin it a polished gnarly old root-like appearance?
O.k. maybe that would look strange, but wood is good.
But i wouldn`t paint it with colors, just polished wood.
