Great, anything well done.

How long need Octane for one rendering like this?

Thanks for the comments guys!

@ Phil: I don't remember exactly, l think I used "aspect ratio" limit with "avoid smaller than".
I remember trying a couple of combination to get the right size/detail ratio.
Just one side of the microphone screen is a 27mb 3dm file!

@Micha: 5min for the first, 15m and a half hour for the last one, close-ups with dense mesh tends to take longer.

Marc, I will need to do a grille/mesh at some point and the one on this mike looks great. For the benefit of beginners like myself would you mind giving us a brief walkthrough (from the start) of how you made the mesh?

Hi Dan,

The screen is made of swept curves.

Excellent work, I love the mesh - yes it would be nice if folks would mention their renderer when they post renders of their MoI objects.

This is a case where Octane did a good job - I really hope the artifacts issue gets resolved in the future.

Great work Marc, I see how you made the wire mesh but how did you bend it into a semi-circle?

Thanks a lot for the comments!

Hi Will, It's much better with the latest versions. I also hope those issues will be addressed, the realtime interaction is quite awesome.

->how did you bend it into a semi-circle?

Hi Grendel, I couldn't figure a way do a curved mesh with 45deg angle with my current brain resources, so I made it straight and used the "flow along curve" command in Rhino. I sure wish something like this would exist in MOI.

That will be possible : make a little curvated cross module ;)
Then array /curve (arc circle)
