A new v2 beta (version Apr-16-2010) is now available for download here:
http://moi3d.com/beta.htm

It's taken me a bit longer than I had originally thought to work on the documentation, so I'm releasing a new beta with an extended expiration since the previous one is about to expire.

The new beta does not have any new features but does have several bug fixes, and the command reference section of the help file has been updated but is not quite done yet.

Bug fixes:

Updated SKP export to fix a crash bug that could happen when exporting curves in certain circumstances when the line segments of the curve had their vertices merged with other nearby line vertices already in the SKP model. I think this finally fully stabilizes the SKP export now.

Fixed a bug where "on" object snaps were being suppressed improperly in the Move and Copy commands, reported in the forum here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=3344.1

Fixed a bug in the geometry library where the mechanism that determines the inside and outside regions of a solid was not working properly in some cases.
Fixes a bug reported in the forum here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=3368.1
although to fix the object in that post, it must first be separated and then rejoined so that the inside/outside setting mechanism will get run on it again.

Fixed a bug with the Inset command reported here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=3295.56

Fixed a bug with Blend where Blend was being sensitive to differences in
parameterization between the edges being blended. Reported in the forum here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=3475.1

Updated meshing to fix a crash when running out of memory early in the initialization process of the meshing thread setup.

Thanks Michael G. I just downloaded it. I'll give it a spin later tonight.

The script copier utility for this version is attached here.

If you run this utility it will copy plugins that were installed in the commands folder in v1 into the current v2 beta's commands folder so they will then also be installed in v2.

Hi Michael,

Not sure what I did wrong, but, I tried the script copier to add my customizations from the previous beta,
but it didn't work. I'd also like to add the keyboard shortcuts of the scripts, without typing them all in again.

Thanks,

Jesse

Edit: I must have had a temporary brain freeze..but I just remembered how to do this :-)

Hi Jesse, are you all set up ok now then?

The keyboard shortcuts are stored in the moi.ini file which is by default saved in a central location so your typed-in shortcut definitions should automatically appear in the new version.

What won't appear automatically are custom command files that you may have installed by copying them to the \commands sub-folder. Those need to be copied into the new beta's \commands sub-folder to be installed for the new beta as well. That script copier utility will just automate that by copying any extra files it finds in v1's \commands folder over to the new beta's \commands folder.

Hi Michael,

I had forgotten that my copy of the previous beta of MoI and ini file with all the script customizations
was backed up on a 2nd hard drive, but once I found it, I managed to get everything working again.

I found the script also copied plugins from a previous v2 beta to the APR 16 beta.

Is this the intention? The instructions on the tin only suggest it copies from v1 -> v2beta.

Many thanks,
Hamish

Hi Hamish,

Well, the way it works is it first looks to see if the 1.0 folder in its default install location exists. If it cannot find that, then it will pop up a folder picking dialog box to pick the source location, and if you pick some other v2 beta's install folder as the source location it will use that one's \commands folder as the source.
