The deform does sound cool. Bend and twist and all that stuff.

Hi Burr, well you shouldn't get too excited just looking at a press release, there are not a lot of details in there.

From what I can tell this currently only works with analytic surfaces like a cylinder or sphere, not just any kind of surface. It may be possible in the future to extend it to work on any developable surface but I'm not sure about that yet.

Actually there was already a variable radius fillet solver in the library - this looks like a new variation of it that takes a "spine curve" to control it.

Hi Burr, yeah it is definitely cool that they are making progress and having new stuff come into the library!

During the past year or so they have hired several new programmers to work on it, so that's a good sign.

That deformation stuff is a pretty big area of new functionality.
