yeah the thin blades had to be treated well this is the reason i took them out of the fan casing for printing. it cost £100 just under 5inches from nose to rear. i used 3dcreationlabs really great service.
Frenchy Pilou: yes reality i used to work in a product design studio and we had several types of rapid prototyping machines so im lucky to have seen more than one of my designs come to life. this hover speeder is the first one to come out of my own pocket though so its more special :)
It would be so cool if the hobby of modeling can be turned into a hobby of affordable model making!
Seeing that the fan blades came out okay is a great indication that the process is mature enough now to seriously consider doing something like this.
It would be great if you folks could list somewhere here the fab houses that you're using so we all could perhaps experiment a bit with having things created from MoI models!
What would be even cooler is over time having MoI's gallery filled with pictures of physical models instead of just digital images like most others! ;-)
