Hi Danny,

I'm not really sure...
Right now it kind of leans more to the side of preserving things when possible.
Like for instance when there are colors ready, if you have one solid that is blue and one solid that is red, when you boolean them together, would you expect to have a new solid that is neither blue nor red but instead the "default" color? Right now with such things I'm leaning towards making a new "combined" solid that would have some red faces and some blue faces in it.
The naming is being treated in the same basic way as that, but when you combine 2 solids into 1, if you have applied a name to the top-level object, there is only one "top level" container object that survives the combining... But since it is arbitrary which one survives maybe that case would be good to toss out the name I suppose.
What about with splitting? Currently names will survive that too, with the same name being applied to the split up pieces. Does that seem bad? It seems like it could be useful.
