I LOVE IT!

I already enjoy using MOI to recreate spaceships and buildings off of Analog SciFi magazines and other references - being able to then have those objects molded could really become a fantastic hobby / pass time!

Keep us informed as to which molding haus you recommend!

-Will

It's a new start-up. I'll email him tonight and post the information if he's ready to go public.

You can contact Todd at

http://www.ninjamagic.com/contact.html

He is currently doing this as a start up in the evenings. He is still working on getting his pricing structure right, so it might be more than he charged me. I liked that he can work with the MOI files directly without going to STL.

Wow, $40 for a print and brass master?

Guess I'll have to chat him up.

Just remember that his pricing structure isn't set in stone yet and it may be more. He's still figuring out his sweet spot to be affordable, but yet still turn a profit.

Here's the picture of the investment casting.

I'm really excited at the results. The detail looks to be well preserved.

Thanks for looking.

That's great! What is a brass master? Is it used to make a mold to mass produce the model using another material? What will the finished game pieces be made of?

It is a great result Phil!

Just the right amount of starting detail for that sized piece, and like you say it has been well preserved.

Did you end up doing any other prep work on the rapid prototype piece like sanding etc... ?

Thanks guys.

The printer is actually doing all the cleanup and prep work. So I will just receive a clean piece.

One down...15 to go.

That's come out great, Well done!!
I'm assuming that you'll be doing a Silicone mould from the Brass Master?

regards Colin

Yes, that's the goal. We'll then mass produce them out of a pewter and sell them for use with the game or just for hobby of painting the miniatures.

Damn that's a nice part.

My latest batch of prints suck, so much for "Polyjet" being highres, it may have lots of layers, but all the detail is mush.

That is awesome Phil, great detail in the investment casting given the small scale. Congrats...I love the Buck Rogerish style.
