I believe that you are right. I have had disk issues lately. This may be related. Thanks for looking into it. I will boot from Vista (on a new drive) and see if it installs.
No problem - that is a bad sign for that one machine's hard drive though.
It might just be some bad sectors that chkdsk /R can clean out, but if that hard drive is a little older it might be a good idea to get a new one in there instead.
