@Pilou, indeed and the Dev will even improve the Renderer
in the next steps.

@KENMO, thank you
Modeling in Magicacsg is a bit more playful than in other 3D editors,
as everything remains editable at any time, so you don't have to
worry about making mistakes.

I've included a link here that leads to the Mastodon page of Ephtracy,
the developer, where he regularly shows new ideas and progress.

I also own the current version of Curvy 3D, version 5. And it is my playing around 3D app.
Although I am not well versed in it.

Yes, I know it.
It's also in the large SDF Apps List thread in the Blender forum,
which I mentioned above.

If I remember correctly, it used to be called "Neobarock" before.

Here's a fun fact: I thought Rocket 3F free was in the dumps...
I relaunched it out of a clear conscience and miraculously it's back up and running...
The interface where you have everything at your fingertips!
And the save files works! Very SF!
The site and Forum are obviously “down”

Ps Direct Import Export OBJ with Moi 3D! ;)

I tried Rocket3F after having difficulty learning NVIL. I was told by the developer of Rocket3F (I believe his first name was Andrea?) that Rocket3F was based on Nvil and used the same "engine".

If I remember correctly, I also think Andrei was a MOI3D user. I believe he had some good MOI3D tutorials on youtube.

Perhaps Michael could contact him about re-posting his MOI tutorials. They not the typical MOI tutorials with no audio and the intent is only for the artist to show off his modeling skills. Andrei were easy to follow. There is another on youtube his name escapes me (ARIMUS or something along those lines) is a fantastic instructor as well.

I found this post on the Nvil forum where the developer of NVIL states Rocket3F is based on NVIL

Rocket 3F is a special version of Nvil. It is customized in a way that the customizer thinks it is the best organizing base on his modeling knowledge and experience. Basically Rocket is not customizable. So it is only suitable for people who find it easy to adapt to its fixed workflow.

Ironically, it was I who asked the question about NVIL vs Rocket3F.

ARRIMUS! That's the bloke I was thinking of. Love his tutorials. He seemed to cover most of the major 3D apps.

I firmly believe IF MOI3D got more exposure most people would immediately fall in love with it.

MOI3D has one of the most intuitive guis of any 3D app. Perhaps some of them should hire Mr Gibson to re-write their user interfaces adapt the Gibson GUI!! After all there is already a guitar named after him!!! LOL

I would love to tap into some of the more advanced features of MOI3D as I realize I am not fully utilizing the power of this amazing app, however the lack of tutorials I believe is holding this app back.

Hehe, that Rocket guy seemed a bit bipolar or something. He was super into MoI, created tons of videos, and then suddenly got pissed and started insulting users who were too "hobbyist" for his taste. As retaliation, he removed all his tutorials and videos. Then he saw an opportunity to sell them for a little while. Eventually, he gave up on 3D, only to come back a few months later with a reskinned version of Nvil, trying to promote it here because it has a "bridge" that was actually based on Max Smirnov scripts. Looks like that project is gone now too.

Software comes and goes—even expensive commercial ones can just vanish (like Modo or Clarisse). That’s one reason to stick with Blender. I have to admit, Nvil has been around for quite a while too. While poly modeling is fairly standard across tools, the learning curve can still be steep. You still find artists using XSI, even though it’s been dead for a decade, because switching to something else is tough once you've mastered it.

I do not much about Andrei.

However I did know Rocket3F was based upon NVIL.

I have an earlier post where I asked the creator of NVIL on the NVIL forms what the relationship was between NVIL and Rocket3F where he replied Rocket3F is a version of NVIL aimed at artists.
I guess it is sort of like Blender and BlenderForArtist.

I agree about 3D software coming and going. I used to use and love Hexagon but it too is like Studebaker Motor Car Company. Gone. As well as Groboto3D, e-onsoftware's Vue (I still use Vue and Groboto3D).

Wings3D is still around and maintained and a very capable modeler. An app I love very much but lacked some of the features Hexagon and Silo had.

Amapi is no more, Silo3D stopped development for a few years but is back. Truespace3D is gone and had one of the most terrible user interfaces of all.

Bryce3D has stopped development for a very long time.
