The AI format written from MoI is for an older version of Adobe Illustrator which isn't supported by either Affinity Designer or Inkscape.

So for export to those programs use PDF format instead, AI and PDF are similar and each can contain path information in them.

Also the v5 beta (https://moi3d.com/beta.htm) adds support for SVG format which is probably the best for transfer to Inkscape.

By the way, when creating logos, I often need to align the center of the reference image with the center of the grid.
It would be very helpful to have an option or a snapping feature to automatically make this alignment.

Yes, When positioning the image, a message saying "pick image base point" is displayed.
At this point, unless the mouse snaps to the center of the image,
I have to manually select a point near the center. However, this might not be accurate.



While some images make it easy to identify the center, this is not always the case.
Even if there is no snap feature available, having a cross line drawn on the image like the one shown in light blue this time can be helpful.

Use the construction lines (and its Mid point) as in this example with align function of image.

When you are in the View > Image command, you can drag on images to reposition them and if you start the drag by grabbing near a corner or the center it will snap on to those as the base point for the move.

You'll see a tag appear like this:

The "Align" function is for a different purpose, to map a line in the image with a line in model space.

For what you want, don't go into the Align sub-tool just drag starting from near the center while you are running in the Image command.

When I saw your answer, I realized that I had overlooked the construction lines.

However, when I actually tried it, it didn't work well.
Do the construction lines snap to the corners of the image?

In your video, you're dragging the image right after drawing the construction lines. Did you edit that part? I tried to replicate it but couldn't do it as smoothly as in your video.

Wow! I would never have noticed that.

Whether it's exporting paths or center snapping for images, it turns out that all these features were included - I just didn't know it.
I guess I need to study a bit more. Still, I'm happy to find out that I can do what I've been wanting to do. Thank you. :)

Got it! I just need to drag from the center point while within the main Image command, not the Align sub-command.

It took me a bit longer to respond as I was writing in English.
