Hi blackboard,

re:

> default,i change color and its work

That will happen if you've set a custom viewport background color in a previous version.

You can reset it to follow the theme color under Options > View > Colors > Background color: "From theme".

re:
> I have another question do you want add full acis possibilities or only fillets?

I'm also expecting to use it for Chamfer, Shell/Offset, and what is called "Direct modeling" functions like transforming an individual face and the surrounding faces extend to meet the edited face. That should be a good spot to wrap up v5 at that point.

Over a longer period I'll probably experiment with replacing other things like booleans.

Hi blackboard,

re:

Probably not really too much because it's mostly swapping out internal geometry creation functions and not creating new UI.

Something like another month to get that stuff hooked up and maybe a couple more months beyond that for tuning and bug fixes.

I did a test, on a model, I'll do some tests during these days and then I'll share them, however on Linux the performance has improved a lot, I don't understand if this depends on something else but now everything is super smooth!
Great thanks

Sorry, I don't know when the free upgrade cutoff date will be yet.

There is also an EDU upgrade version as well.

That's great! There has been a couple of tweaks to avoid certain texture formats that did not seem to be supported well on Linux.

I would not have thought that it would make such a big difference but it must have been triggering some slow path.

Great stuff, Michael, thanks for all the hard work.

I don't use MOI often (I'm mainly polygonal modeller/render guy) but when i do need to use it i always enjoy using/discovering new stuff.

Hello,

I thought booleans were also involved a lot for filleting that they will be higher on the list ( I have nothing to complain about the actual booleans tho)
Switching those to ACIS will also mean we could have some 'direct' modelling enhancement like moving the cutter solid later in the design ? Or is that an other history based mechanics ?

There will be a separate v5 beta build for octane users that will be available in their account page.

I'll get that set up for the next beta release, there will be a new release soon with a bunch of bug fixes.

Right, booleans are an area that Solids++ does handle well, so there is not as much to be gained by switching them compared to filleting.

There are direct modeling functions in ACIS which should allow things like this. I don't know the exact details of how well it will work quite yet.

The direct modeling functions are not dependent on booleans being handled by ACIS.

Hi Pilou,

re:

That bundle currently includes MOI version 4. I will be making a v5 beta release for it as well, for the next v5 beta release.
