Not that I know of.

ACIS before parasolids. I think the challenge with acis would be more dev time on robust error handling. Its so much more open it leads to an appearance of "buggy" if error conditions aren't handled professionally...

Thanks a lot for your reply. Do you know any more affordable kernels which could be worth to look?

What do you think about Open Cascade kernel (FreeCAD)? Could it bring a bit better fillets/ offsets/ shelling or it`s not worth to check?

I mean as addition to existing one. Something like that: https://discourse.mcneel.com/t/scripting-freecad-from-rhino-filletedge-case/135784

If it is worth to do it inside Rhino maybe it`s worth to have it inside MoI3d.

I`m only thinking loudly and I don`t want to start any software war.

Cheers!!!

Hi mdesign,

re:

The only one I know of is C3D but since that is from a Russian company it's probably not going to be feasible to use it for the time being at least. I was just about ready to spend some time doing a thorough investigation of it when the war started.

I've looked at it a few times, it's generally not at the same level as the commercial kernels.

Maybe in some cases. There will be a large amount of work involved in incorporating an additional kernel though.

I think that's about a n-sided patch surface filling mechanism which is a newer thing that's been developed in Open Cascade. So it could very well be in better shape than other things.
