Hi Mala, the .3dm file format that MoI writes is also the Rhino file format. So if the plugin I linked to above can import curves from Rhino to Cinema4D it may also be able to do the same for .3dm files saved out from MoI as well. I'm not sure but it is worth a try.

I don't think it will work for transferring surfaces and solids because it uses display meshes which MoI does not write to .3dm files, but for curves it might work ok.

Hi Lara,

For me it works best this way :

If the curves are in one plane (2d curves) I prefer to export them in *.ai format.

If the curves are 3d curves then I go for the *.dxf format.
Choose > polylines from rhe menu. And make sure that your curves are not closed,
they should have two open ends. If you have closed curves, just trim them tp get two
open ends.

You can also export artificial surfaces in obj format and kill the internal surfaces in C4D so you obtain only curves 2D/ 3D! :)

Sorry i can't test i have not C4D!

Answer of MacGreggor ;)

the requested format is DXF, with the option Polylines otherwise we have nothing at all in C4D.
The default angle of 1 generates very close points, we can increase this value to 10 for example.

Then in C4D, we get a linear spline, perfectionists fond of precision can use Respline : but 60

MacGreggor

So Take Export DXF / Export Type: 3D Curves / PolyLines / Angle 10 :)
Et voila!
